Yeah - Roseola. f- you.
Last Wednesday (and I'm writing this on Monday so you can see the suckage all through the internet) Smalls got a fever. It was 103.9. High? yes. Panic inducing? no. Dose him, call the doc, post it on Facebook. Listen to him whimper 100 times that "I no feel good mommy" That the correct order of things in 2011, right? :) My poor kids will never have any privacy. I've guaranteed that one.
So then squishy starts with the fever later in the day - he's only 1 so his version of "I no feel good mommy" is a high pitched velociraptor screech that is WORSE than nails on a chalkboard. I kid you not. You know how people say your own kid always sounds worse that it really is? Yeah not this kid - his velociraptor impression is legen-DARY. So that was fun. Thursday was more of the same, Smalls hovering between 103-104 and Squish between 102-103.
Then there was 4:32 am on Friday.....Smalls - 105.1! Now we're at panic mode - I call the 24 hour doctor line. The NP calls and b/c he's sooooo high and has a 1 year old brother with just a few immunizations it's ER time. $100 later? he has a mystery fever. um - f-ing duh. I've known that since Wednesday. IT's what my kids get....MYSTERY FEVER.
SO I call the ped at 10am b/c it just isn't sitting right with me. Smalls isn't moving - just laying there all pathetic and Squish isn't all that perky either - and they look like hell. Babies with black circles under their eyes is pathetic. Ped wants to see them both @ 1. woo! that's $20 more PER KID. So we go -see my tied for 1st NP and she is concerned. Way worth the $40 now b/c it's WAY MORE THAN THE ER DID FOR ME. They're throats are raw they look like hell they get a strep test that turns out negative.
Saturday - the fevers are gone as mysteriously as they show up.
Sunday - ding ding ding! we have rashes. It's f-ing Roseola.
The good news? Smalls is SO going to preschool today.
have kids? this will all sound very very familiar. and hopefully a wee bit funny...

but Why?
So this morning over breakfast (that sounds fancy, huh?) Smalls starts talking about school. He had his THIRD day of preschool yesterday and so far all I know about is what their snack has been everyday. Apparently it really is his favorite part of school. (for those keeping track - preztels and yemonade, pupcakes (Math-a-yew's birthday) and yemonade, apples and YEP! yemonade)
So this morning he said the teacher told them it was circle time and they all had to sit on the floor. His response to the teacher...."but WHY?" at least he didn't say no, right?
